Charlie May x Yauatcha has official launched this morning at their Soho restaurant (15 Broadwick Street, London W1F 0DL), with friend and artist Clym Evernden drawing a giant Charlie May mural on the blue door to the restaurant.
It’s been an exciting wait, I’m so terrible at keeping secrets but I managed to keep this one under wraps. Those of you who follow me on Snapchat may have had an inkling with my constant lunch meetings at the restaurant. It was so exciting helping to design the cakes with head pastry chef Sarah Frankland. The inspiration for the petite gateaux and macarons were the fabrics for my new SS16 collection. I worked with Sarah, using the fabrics and my favourite flavour combinations to come up with the collection. I love the texture on the patisserie to mimic the baubly textured nude, as well as the black encrusted sesame macaron to mimic out devoré stripe.
I’m looking forward to unveiling the new collection at London Fashion Week this Saturday, in the meantime head to Yauatcha, Soho, to get a piece for yourself. The collaboration will be available for two weeks from today.
