So, finally here it is, I’m super proud of this one! It was so much fun getting to finally work with Saga, one of my favourite fashion photographers, as well as the rest of the team which are fast becoming the Charlie May family. I’m usually not a fan of overly posey lookbooks but I think Tatjana made the clothes look incredible! We were all joking that we were going to bust out some of her moves waiting for the bus, or in line at the supermarket!
There’s a first time for everything and last week it was being invited to a menswear event, not strictly for men of course but never the less it was exciting to see so many dapper looking gentleman in one room. Mr. Porter, (the Net a Porter for men) were showcasing their S/S collections about to go online at the super chic Hix in Soho. The cocktails were strong and the bites were small -which you’d sort of expect for a mens evening, as we browsed the new lines and accessories it was exciting to see the mix of traditional and modern; printed Givenchy tees next to pebbled leather brogues, if I was a man Mr Porter would be my go to for everything! This was confirmed the next day when I found a little voucher in my goody bag, my fantasy male shopping continued..
I was super impressed with how easy it was to navigate the site, especially as you upload your gift voucher and it’s on there, whenever you need it to be deducted at the checkout. I settled on some new Converse Jack Purcell’s, I have to say I’ve lived in them since I bought them! A lot of my friends have been doing double takes, as I’m not a trainer girl at all, I just love the minimal monochrome look as well as them being comfy and chic to run around London in. Thank you so much Mr Porter!
What could be more perfect on a Monday morning than lacy pastel loveliness? I give you Dolci Follie, a luxury lingerie heaven tucked away in Notting Hill. It’s only been open a few months and is already attracting attention for it’s exclusive luxury brands, interiors – inspired by an opulent Venetian Palazzo, and quality of service (a glass of Prosecco in the changing suite? Thank you kindly!)
Needless to say the boutique is rising fast and I can see why when I met the Simona, the owner of Dolci Follie; she told me that there is real TLC lacking from todays luxury lingerie experience, she treats each customer as an individual and builds up respect over time, which is why her loyal customers keep on coming back.
This boutique really is a girls dream, whether you’re looking for dreamy intimates or swimwear for a holiday, Simone has it all! I totally fell head over heels for the silk pyjamas by Olivia von Halle, I’ve decided they are the only things suitable to lounge around the house in. Also, if any of you or your friends are getting married you simply have to visit, whether it’s a special gift or a full set, the range is SO BEAUTIFUL!
Last week, I was invited for lunch at Dean St Townhouse with Maria Nilsdotter to view the new and growing collection; I was happy to hear that Maria isn’t seasonal so much as just keeps adding to the collection, so you can always go back and purchase a favourite, which is perfect as her pieces are the things you want to wear time and time again.
The new collection, featuring feathers, masks and delicate twigs, was inspired by a swan princess who desperately wants to be human and so is hiding a piece of her. Maria’s story telling comes across so vividly with every new collection, born in Sweden, the stories originate from swedish folklore and childhood tales.
I had such a wonderful time meeting the lady behind the label, I can’t wait to grow my jewellery collection over time with these beautiful pieces. Thank you so much to Maria and Varg for the invite and great company, as well as Dean St Townhouse for having us!
You can find Maria Nilsdotter accessories at Shop at Bluebird and Browns Focus.
So, I have super exciting news to tell everyone! This week I appointed HPR to do the press for Charlie May, my AW12 collection will be hanging in their showroom for their press day IN A WEEK! On top of that I have my first stockist – BENGT. They’ll be selling my SS12 as of May and my AW12 as of September!
How much more excited could I be!?

It was truly Charlie and the Haagen Dazs factory on Wednesday when Alexxsia and I attended the launch of the new mint leaves and chocolate ice cream. As well as mojitos there were cheesecake cocktails, dry ice, parsnip, chocolate and something or other cocktails – very otherworldly; small nibbles of lobster, beef or avocado rolls as well as bowls of ice cream of course! Aside from the catering, what was really magical was entering the other world next door; bubbles that flowed out tasting like mint and chocolate before they floated up to the ceiling to be cruelly trapped by the skylight; dry ice infused with mint to be smelled whilst eating a brownie; and my favourite of all, the cold plate where you could make your own ice cream lollies by pouring vanilla cream, chocolate and your choice of sprinkles. I need to invest in the latter for home I think!
Last night Selfridges hosted a night of short films to celebrate the opening of their new Womens Designer Galleries; their were 7 short films created to sum up the ideal woman behind the labels, such as this one for Ann Demeulemeester; directed by Michael C. Pitt featuring Jamie Bochert. Other designers included were Rick Owens, Gareth Pugh and Dries Van Noten. The film project will be at The Old Selfridges Hotel until the 25th March, but you can view the seven films online here.
I was super excited last week to meet up with the director of Bengt to have a cup of tea and a cupcake at the much anticipated Violet in East London. As you can see my Moxham collection is slowly growing with the new Egypt necklace, I haven’t stopped wearing. If you don’t know about Bengt then they are an online boutique stocking only exciting emerging fashion talent (like me!); they stock favourites Eudon Choi, Moxham, Danielle Foster and more. Bengt have kindly offered my readers 20% off all purchases so you can go and see for yourselves.
