When is inappropriate footwear appropriate? I deem it to be so when you have a floor length cashmere coat to keep you warm, an extra jumper will help too. Mixed reactions on these babies but I can assure you, my toes are as happy as I am. Heading back to London today in time for new years. I think I’ve pretty much exhausted my outfits from the suitcase I brought down two weeks ago. Looking forward to being reunited with my wardrobe, a full speed internet connection and an empty fridge. So much overindulging when I’m at home; a bottomless wine glass and chocolate box in front of the TV and I’m officially ready to start working out again.
New Years Eve tomorrow! Thank you to those who joined the party in 2013, and an extra big hug to those who have been with me all along. I don’t want to get too sentimental but what an awesome year it’s been! Already so much in store for January that I seriously can’t wait to share. Wishing you all a Happy New Years!
Everything I’m turning to for inspiration this holiday; plenty of layering, daring exposing of skin with wools, knits and plenty of flats and oversized silk shirts. I could go on but it’s a tale as old of time of course. Hope you’re enjoying the holidays, New Years is just around the corner and whilst I’m enjoying sitting here with my feet by the fire, there’s a new collection to make when I get back to the big smoke!

Wahoo the winter sales are here! And not just the big guns like NAP or Selfridges, but my own too! So if you’ve been waiting on that special leather jacket or seasonally appropriate trousers, then look no further. My favourites include, the perfect stretch leather pants and ostrich biker jacket. Happy shopping!
Wearing full grey has perhaps been my new obsession, with grey purchases far outweighing the usual black or white. These two are my favourites, although I wish the knit was the exact same colour as the wool skirt; I have been wearing them both on most days, as my instagram indicates. Why can’t all garments be the perfect, raw cut precision as this?
New seasonally inappropriate footwear is in; as the spring/summer collection are already landing in store, I was immediately drawn to these slider-esque sandals from Isabel Marant. The first Marant purchase I’ve ever made, I feel like these perfectly bridge the gap between boho Birkenstocks and high fashion Céline fur adorned sandals or patent minimalism, even though I have to admit I thought these were Céline at first. Already wearing them with heavy overcoats and as many layers as possible.
Daria has got to be my favourite model of all time. I don’t think it’s singularly down to the Céline campaigns that sealed her fate as my favourite, but doesn’t she resemble Philo herself a bit here? I should apologise for the lack of posts this past week, so much to handle with your own business, as well as squeezing in some very exciting projects right up until yesterday. Right now, I’m packing for home, managing to squeeze in christmas pressies around the mountain of shoes I’m trying to pack, whilst my boyfriend simultaneously removes them. No Stella’s for me this time!

On the other corners of the internet, some of my favourte things on instagram as of late. Little outfit details, mostly including feet, and even more so those new Nike trainers. I’ve been getting lots of enquiries as to where to get them, so I thought I’d point you guys in the right direction: on the Nike website you can create your own, I did that using the Nike Free skin. It’s super easy and worth giving it a go as it costs no more than the usual pair, you just have to be more patient with the arrival!

Basic studio wear, catching a coffee with Shini on Broadway Market; I say catching because the wind was so fierce, we were fighting to keep our hair on! and most of these pictures I was unidentifiable until I pinched her beanie and reclaimed my identity. I’ve been super busy in the studio working on AW14 as well as finishing off SS14 production, before leaving for Devon next week. SO excited for the holidays! I’m doing a pre Christmas sample sale today at The Trampery with many other amazing London designers, I hope you guys drop by!

I think it must go without saying that being an iconic minimalist designer, Ann Sofie Back is one of my firm favourites; when I saw this tshirt hailing that Back is BACK FOR GOOD I felt the message should be spread far and wide. I loved her recent SS14 collection, with Calvin Klein 90s reminiscent boxers, with the name peering out from above the jeans. Something I’m ready to embrace when the weather starts warming up again in a few months! Right now it’s about layering up, with the best black coat and an unsuspecting rust sweater that I found in COS.

I’ve been thinking A LOT about knitwear recently. Not just because the nights are getting colder and I’m up to my 18th sweater buy of the season, but because for AW14 I’m doing my first knitwear collaboration! There will be more on that later, but it has made me think about how we wear them, the purpose they serve, as well as the design. Featured knitwear in this editorial from all the big guns, Stella McCartney, Acne, Céline; the bigger the better, and all the better for being a bit revealing too.
