The new website is officially live! I’ve been threatening to do a huge giveaway for a while now, so here it is. I know it won’t disappoint! I’m so excited to have teamed up with hair giants, Bumble and bumble, to offer some pretty uhhmazing stuff. I always use their products for my shows and editorial shoots, so it made total sense to team up with them for my first giveaway for the new site, and with items I use on a daily basis.
There are two sets of prizes, first is the Charlie May ostrich leather tee with Bumble and bumble quenching shampoo and conditioner, thickening creme and surf spray (This is available worldwide!). And, the second is two tickets to see our catwalk show at London Fashion Week, 15th September! As well as Bumble and bumble Mending shampoo and conditioner, surf spray and texture creme (this is available to UK residents only who are in London for fashion week.) Unfortunately I cannot provide travel!
All you have to do is sign up to our newsletter and follow Girl a la Mode on BlogLovin’. Just leave a comment below to say which prizes you’re going for (you can vote for both!) Competition will close on Wednesday morning, along with the free worldwide shipping for the new site. I wish you all good luck!
Just some of the final campaign images that will be launching on the new site tomorrow. Sign up to the newsletter to be the first to hear about our new e-commerce site going live! This has been such a long time coming, I’m so excited to launch the new ready-to-wear collection, and of course the Danielle Foster accessories collab too. The launch will also be followed by a super Charlie May giveaway so stay tuned on the blog for more details!

So, I’m kind of obsessed with this strange abstract editorial from Wallpaper, where the most perfect entire white outfits have been covered up with everyday household objects in the name of collage art. It may or may not have been completely sold to me by the Stella McCartney shoes that I’m currently hunting high and low for (any ideas welcome!), but these outfits fill me with joy too. (Note to self – fill wardrobe with even more textured white garments than usual.)
I’m really liking these high necklines at the moment too, weather it’s becauseAutumn/Winter is finally hitting the stores and my brain is making the mental switch from beach to log cabin (or a more english equivalent), but they just look so chic. There are a million Céline polo necks on Yoox at the moment that I’m umming and ahhing over, as well as the slightly odd tops at Zara for the more affordable end; but who can deny that they just want to get their hands on the Walenciaga cracked paint knit?

I’ve come to the conclusion that no awkward mid calf length skirt is flattering unless worn with some pretty high heels. When putting on any skirt of a similar length, at first I’d say it doesn’t suit me at all, but add some block powa’ heels (see previous example) and you’re good to go! I got quite an crazy response over these shoes on instagram, I’m sorry I didn’t post them sooner as they were on an insane mark down in the sale, and have now gone, all but one that is.

The topic of the Birkenstock has many people divided. Perfectly straddling the line between high fashion and ugly; you either love them or you hate them. If you’re a devout Céline follower then you’ll no doubt have a pair already, if not the enviable real deal – I’ve been thinking about the pair in this particularly exceptional editorial for a while, but as soon as I saw these Vagabond sandals online, my thirst for ugly sandals sort of came to an end.
So, worn with a black Charlie May blazer, soon to be available online (!) and my new favourite jewellery discovery MIRLO - I haven’t taken this V necklace off since I got it. Wearing black as Autumn slowly starts to creep in, and it’s no longer that acceptable to cycle in between the spots in white outfits. Glad I’ve still got a bit of a tan happening at least!

The new website is due to launch next week! (Can you feel the excitement!?) I wanted to share my favourite image from the shoot we did on Monday for the AW13 collection. I love it quite a lot; I just want to be her, pretty much for every photo we took, actually! The campaign was shot with Leticia Lamb from Elite, by Nicole Maria Winkler, Make Up by Thom Walker, and Hair by Alex James Fairbairn.
The Danielle Foster x Charlie May bags are now available to buy from us on Danielle’s site, be the first to get one before they hit all the stores!
Stiletto, chunky, gargantuan – three of my favourite shoes this summer, as well as my favourite colours. Perfectly covering all bases. Now, if only I could get them in flat versions to wear to work all day.. Do you ever wish you had an office job just so you could wear whatever you wanted and didn’t have to think about the practicality of it all? Easy Lyfe. Another reason I’m so happy fashion has more recently taken flats into consideration, I hope that never ends.
Doing more venue recces today for the show, as we have until the end of this week to decide on a space. It is officially now a month until the start of London fashion week!
So you could say I’m addicted, addicted to the deep V mesh cami. It started with Céline (of course) then carried through to H&M and now, Asos. I’m craving all other minimal silk fluid tanks available practically everywhere, perfect for summer and pairing with anything, simplicity at it’s best.
Worn with my dusky pink sleeveless blazer, that I’m starting to think should of had a life as a cape instead, no? Off to shoot AW13 for the e-commerce site today, up by the end of the week!! Follow me on instagram for live updates throughout the day.

Late night Sunday inspo browsing for my shoot tomorrow and stumbled upon this editorial for the new issue of Vogue. Seems even more relevant to me as I constantly update and delete various items from my Zara shopping basket; all the while hating myself for even shopping there, when all I really want is this entire perfect Stella McCartney pinstripe.
There is nothing more iconic or covetable to me than the perfect thick wool winter coat; just looking at this makes me excited to move on to designing AW14! Having said that I never thought about how perfect a floor length winter coat looks with some flimsy undergarments and Birkenstocks.. watch out London, flasher-fashion might be making it’s move, and I may be it’s newest convert..
