THE SLEEVELESS BLAZER
I’ve been wearing my sleeveless blazer pretty consistently with this perfect shape Moxham tee; picked up at Madeleine’s pop up shop in Covent Garden. I’m not usually one for logo tees but when it’s an awesome label (& logo), and a friend, I am more than happy to obliege!
I have been enjoying the rise of the slogan tee, most likely brought on by Les Plus Dores; with Acne’s pastel COLLAGE or MUSIC slogans and Phillip Lim’s Weirdo Tee, that I really want. I also love the insane rise of THE TEE in general; made out of every fabrication you can imagine. It’s something I’ve been playing with the last couple of seasons with the Velvet tee for SS13 and the leather and silk tee for AW13, and it shows no sign of stopping.
So, here I am finally wearing my favourite SS13 piece; the sleeveless blazer, in the perfect dusky pink, and available to buy here.

STILL LIFE
With every season, I feel that there is one piece that stands completely alone in representing the essence of the entire collection. For my SS13 it has to be the dusty pink sleeveless blazer; it looks just as good on the hanger as it does on a body, which is important from a sales point of view, but also from a buyers perspective, just to have it hanging in your wardrobe screaming ‘please wear me!’ is an awesome thing, no one wants to be bored when getting dressed in the morning! I love the cut of the sharp lapels, it’s squishy soft texture, and the asymmetric hang at the hem, that falls to just mid thigh – which is totally flattering for us ladiez.
I’ve worn it a few times but am yet to photograph it as an outfit, I promise it will come soon!

CAMILLE
If there ever was a girl to wear my biker jacket, it had to be this girl. AMAIRIGHT? I think we all wish we could dress a little bit more like Camille, her seriously easy going French sense of style rubs off on all of us through her delicious insta feed, which in itself sounds kinda like a ready meal from the future, no? Nothing makes me happier than seeing my collection translated through another’s personal style; how I love all these emerging Charlie May girls!
I’m seriously happy with the biker jacket in cotton, I’ve done leather jackets every season and despite the transitional London weather patterns, I still think cotton was a great choice for SS13. I’m currently evolving a new lightweight biker for SS14, which is I’m sure is going to blow everything out of the water, but that’s in many many months time, so let’s just ogle Camille’s kick ass loveliness for now.
SPORTS FOR MINIMALISTS
Loving this new Volstrom editorial featuring the silk wrap skirt and the high cut shorts from SS13, worn with some beautiful Kirsty Ward & Hugo Boss tops. The sportswear vibe feels so right paired back with the minimal wrap skirt; this is definitely a look I want to replicate for summer.
I was sad the skirt never went into production, despite being popular in Marie Claire and with you, dear readers, sometimes pieces slip through the net! This season I’ll be making sure that doesn’t happen as I’ll be ordering for my own e-commerce store, expected to launch for August, so watch this space!
CHARLIE MAY ON THE STREET
One of my all time favourite images of my girl Sandra, wearing the Charlie May AW12 biker jacket and shirt dress outside the Topshop Unique show at LFW. Definitely the most exciting thing about being a designer is seeing real girls wearing your designs, looking so amazing and obviously feeling goood; so I’ve creating some new boards and albums (via Pinterest and Facebook) dedicated to Charlie May street style. I hope you’ll follow them and be as excited as me! I’ll also start posting more on here as they come up, because it’s not all about my outfits.

DANIELLE FOSTER X CHARLIE MAY
I’m delighted to show you the final images for the Danielle Foster for Charlie May lookbook that I posted some behind the scenes for last week. I’m so happy with how it looks, we went for the more monochrome looks in the AW13 collection, and matched everything together. It’s exactly how I would wear the collection and the bags together, I love it! Looking forward to what the press have to say over the press days next week! SHOOTING THE DANIELLE FOSTER LOOKBOOK
Last Saturday we shot the AW13 lookbook with Danielle Foster. Tucked away in the Wayward gallery in East London, sheltered from the sleet with Missy to keep us company, we shot the bag collaboration along with pieces from my AW13 collection. I loved being there, usually lookbook shoots are quite hectic as there’s so much to get done but Danielle is super organised and made the whole shoot loads of fun. We used the more monochrome looks from my collection, using only the pebbled oxblood leather skirt for colour. I was really feeling the matchy-matchy looks; favourite being the black suit. The looks were a lot more calmed down than the drama of the AW13 show. I’m such a sucker for neutrals and these looks are just how I would wear them.
I seriously can’t wait for the bags to hit the stores! Which one is your favourite?
THE LEATHER TEE
I know I must be saying this about every piece of my AW13 collection, but this is my favourite piece FOR SURE. The tee is made out of ostrich printed cows leather (thicker, less expensive and less waste than real Ostrich), it’s also fully lined and the back is made out of a silk/linen fabric; so it’s comfy and breathable. I’m getting a little sentimental about having to give it to HPR in a couple of weeks for press, knowing that it will be a couple of months before I can send my own order to the factories and start wearing it all again. BUHU.
I’m currently working on getting my e-commerce site designed and am thinking, it was be awesome to have a pre order section on the site so you guys can be the first to get your favourite pieces from AW13. I’ve set up a mailing list that you can join and get notified when all this is up and running. In the meantime I’d love to know if there’s anything else you guys would love to see on my new site; I’m putting a lot of love into it and want it to be perfect so all ideas welcome.

A DAY WITH CHARLIE MAY
There are so many picture editing apps out there, my phone alone has over 5 and now I’ve discovered VSCO to add to that. I teamed up with them before fashion week for their One Day With feature, shooting moments throughout the day on my iPhone and using their editing app to pretty them up. You can see the full feature over on their blog, these were my favourite pics from the day. Still dreaming of those yummy cocktails!
