JANNEKE VERHOEVEN

Janneke Verhoeven
‘A collusion on Angles’
ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Arhem
Recently discovered through the wonderful fashion156 blog, Janneke Verhoeven’s ArtEZ graduate BA collection used geometric forms of a tangram puzzle for silhouette inspiration, with fluid lines being interrupted by harsh angles creating unexpected shapes with renewed elegance. I really like that you can clearly see the origin of the collection from the lookbook imagery; There is a tranquil coherence to her work that I wish I had a little bit more of with my own.
The incredible shoes are a collaboration with Miriam van Weeghel.
Janneke’s website is currently under construction but you can see more of her work through fiageneration11.

Featuring Daniel Radcliffe

Danel Radcliffe constantly pushes himself to new levels, because of his role in the Harry Potter films he’s always trying something new and daring. I really admire this about Daniel, he is always on the next level when we are still behind.

WAH NAILS PUMA PARTY

Last month I went with my girls Alexxsia and Amy to the WAH nails Puma Party, celebrating the launch of some new Puma sneakers (see above). We had our nails done whilst trying out the bizarre Red Bull/Cola/Vodka combo, our nail colours matched the new sneakers too! Model moment with Alice Dellal hanging out in the salon AND I finally got to meet Cole Mohr who is incredibly sweet. Mega fun evening!
Wearing Louise Goldin for Topshop dress, Ann D boots, Vivienne Westwood ring and Gogo Philip bracelet.

YOHJI YAMAMOTO RETROSPECTIVE

YOHJI YAMAMOTO AT THE V&A
From 12 March – 10 July 2011, the V&A will present a retrospective of the work of visionary Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto. Conceived as a site-specific installation with its core in Gallery 38 and small interventions throughout the V&A, Yamamoto’s menswear collections will be included in the display of his work for the first time. Each space will take its own meaning within the narrative of the exhibition which explores Yohji Yamamoto’s design world.

Super excited.

CURATED BY HAIDER ACKERMANN

A MAGAZINE curated by HAIDER ACKERMANN

I remember my dear friend Amy bringing this mag back from Antwerp when she did a placement with Ann Demeulemeester (Haider is in the same building as Ann), and I recently discovered there’s a whole website of magazines curated by other inspiring designers such as Yamamoto, Margiela and Kris Van Assche under the name of A MAGAZINE curated by.

VERO MODA

Some more snaps from Vero Moda’s FB page

On Friday Amy and I were invited to the Vero Moda showroom on Leonard St to preview some exclusive pieces from the new A/W 2010 collection. The showroom was in a converted schoolhouse building and set an incredible scene for the day ahead.
Amy and I got to try out our top picks from the collection and even take some pieces home with us!
Amy took away with her the Very Leather Dress and Grey Chunky Knit Cardigan and I got the Leather and Suede Jacket and Very Pannel Dress. I’m so happy with my items! I’ve been wearing my leather jacket NON STOP.
Vero Moda opens at 179 Oxford St on the 4th November.
In the mean time you can enter their Gold Bag Competition. A few days before the store opens there will be 300 gold bags released into the public realm, these gold bags are your ticket to a whole outfit for free!

CHLOE MEMISEVIC

On Tuesday we shot Thomas Tait’s lookbook with the insanely gorgeous Chloe Memisevic.
Chloe was supposed to open the show for us in London but got held up in New York by the tornado, so glad we got to work with her in the end!
We shot all the looks in the studio and then on to the park for some mood shots as the sun was going down.

CLEMENS EN AUGUST

On Monday night the beautiful Amy invited us to the Clemens en August Sales Preview. A chance to buy the collection at wholesale prices; in hindsight this wasn’t such a good idea. Standing amongst high flying fashionistas with moths flying out of our pockets. It was lots of fun hanging out with Amy and Andrew, trying on so many beautiful clothes with free flowing champaign and nibbles alongside. The fur jacket was everyone’s favourite, I love the photo of Andrew with everyones hands all over him!

I apologise if I spelt any of the locations wrong, I was copying the tiniest font ever! Please correct me if you see anything, I don’t want to be responsible for sending keen shoppers in the wrong direction!
Unfortunately this season I can’t attend as a friend booked a holiday for us all next week, which is also amazing of course. It’s probably a good thing I can’t go this season, my overdraft has only nearly recovered from last years!
Let me know if any of you are planning to attend and show me your goodies on your return xxx
