Generally I have tall friends, also my boyfriend (the usual outfit photographer on this blog) is tall; I’m not short myself at 5ft 8″ and yet on the far dusty corners of the internet I actually see someone saying that I’m “not tall and not skinny”. Now, I can’t claim to be fashion skinny but I can claim to be tall-ish right? It had never really occurred to me to ask my tall friends to stoop whilst taking my picture, to give some kind of optical illusion of how I actually look, IRL. I know the camera adds 10lbs but does it also take inches off your height? I know this is a funny subject to talk about, especially as I usually on rave on about clothes, and the skinny debate can go on and on but, the tall debate, I have never heard of.
So, outside Bistrotheque, the weekend after our Antwerp getaway, Michael and I experimented with this short/tall photo theory, and I have to say I know which ones came out better. Sorry boys, but I’ll probably be asking you to stoop from now on.

Loving this new Volstrom editorial featuring the silk wrap skirt and the high cut shorts from SS13, worn with some beautiful Kirsty Ward & Hugo Boss tops. The sportswear vibe feels so right paired back with the minimal wrap skirt; this is definitely a look I want to replicate for summer.
I was sad the skirt never went into production, despite being popular in Marie Claire and with you, dear readers, sometimes pieces slip through the net! This season I’ll be making sure that doesn’t happen as I’ll be ordering for my own e-commerce store, expected to launch for August, so watch this space!
My final post from Bristol, perfecting the art of showing you what was underneath my hundred layers of coats and hats. Really looking forward to summer now, where I’ll no doubt be transitioning from winter whites to summer whites. WATCH OUT. ..Seriously though I must have worn predominantly white in the last 10 posts. Transeasonal dressing is now exactly the same, just plus or minus the tights it would seem.
The most genius of newly discovered things has to go to the velcro stiletto. I never dreamed that these shoes would do up with what’s more nostalgically associated with pre school days etc etc, but leave it to Mr Wang to surprise me. It’s difficult to do up a shoe whilst teetering on the balls of your feet, so hooray for function and fashion combining!

Finally back with a bump after a couple of days spent LIVIN LA VIDA LOCA on the sofa, post LFW. Although those last two days were technically fashion week, I decided to stop trying to do everything at once and accept that I need some rest after the mayhem of organising a whole show. I still can’t believe it’s done, and now I have lots of exciting meetings with buyers etc!
I had to share this bag with you before it gets packed off to Sane PR, it’s of course from the Danielle Foster X Charlie May collaboration for AW13! I am ridiculously in love with it. If you saw the show pictures you can see how it’s worn without the strap too. I’ve seen a few clear bags making the rounds over the last year but none as cool as this, it’s definitely going to be mine asap, along with that white wool coat it was worn with!
Thank you to Grazia who today named me one of 23 under-the-radar labels you should know! So crazy happy. (humble brag over)
Lumpy jumpers. This may be the ultimate lumpy jumper; I bought it from Labels Inc in Antwerp a couple of years ago from the mens section. It fits like a dad jumper, which is perfect in the right situations; such as a walk down the Thames on a cold Sunday. Happy to find such a cluster of trees in the middle of the city, so thought I would enjoy the moment.

I had that song in my head all day yesterday, and it seemed kind of appropriate for the title here, although I’m not selling my body to the night or anything! The Nicholas Kirkwood sample sale is coming up next week and I was reminded of these beauties that I came away with last year. They’ve only made one appearance on the blog and maybe are used more for swooning than for wearing, which I’m aiming to change. Maybe I’ll be more sensible this year and only buy a pair if I’ll genuinely live in them, like this top and skirt that are on constant wardrobe rotation at the moment.
Shooting like a rocket up Heron Tower’s glass elevator early on a Sunday afternoon was quite the surprising experience; doing 0-40 floors in 3 seconds, I’m surprised I even managed lunch after the vertigo! The lift kicked us out a couple of floors down, which gave us the chance to to take in the views and stop off for a quick outfit shot, before being told off by the security guards (apparently the tower is still somewhat being built and the glass hadn’t been secured – erm ok!). The food at D&W was so good though, I’m still dreaming about those ox cheek donuts and of course, their signature dish – the duck and waffle! I’m looking forward to going back at nighttime to see London lit up, and jealous of anyone who managed to go on Monday for fireworks on bonfire night!

Another rainy summer Sunday spent hiding in coffee shop, with much needed caffeine in hand, wearing my new favourite rose gold accessories and triple lace boots. I don’t mind the moody weather so much if it means I get to wear my favourite boots, all year round; – just not accompanied with an umbrella, a winter coat, sunglasses, and a bikini! Schizophrenic London, I still love you anyway.
