I’ve been thinking A LOT about knitwear recently. Not just because the nights are getting colder and I’m up to my 18th sweater buy of the season, but because for AW14 I’m doing my first knitwear collaboration! There will be more on that later, but it has made me think about how we wear them, the purpose they serve, as well as the design. Featured knitwear in this editorial from all the big guns, Stella McCartney, Acne, Céline; the bigger the better, and all the better for being a bit revealing too.

Just before we were whisked away to Malta, I was treated to afternoon tea at Aqua Shard by new accessories label Completed Works; seeing London by night is a definite highlight of living in the city, it was beautiful sitting there from day to night and watching the whole skyline light up. I’m completely in awe of their very first pillar collection; the rings using marble and jade contrasting black Rhodium and gold are kind of a purists dream, whilst 3D printed broken column necklaces seem dainty and chunky all at the same time.
Sometimes a photo perfectly captures a mood or a feeling; going through my mountains of holiday photos from last week (I’ve currently whittled it down to a select 100..) this one stood out as a perfect memory. I’ve been getting back on track with a mountain of work and orders (thank you!) this week, whilst my brain is still in Malta mode. I’ve officially got the travel bug and whilst autumn is my favourite season here, and knits and leathers have me feeling much more in my element than say, a bikini; I can’t help but think about when my next adventure might be and if it involves more hot weather, rooftop pools and turquoise stretching coastlines.
I moved my sample sale online this week so make sure you check it out for SS13 up to 80% off!

Walking around Marsaxloxx, in the south eastern part of Malta, around sunset after eating the biggest Maltese Sunday lunch. Wearing an easy holiday dress I picked up from Zara before travelling, and the Vagabond sandals I couldn’t live without all summer.

Our second day in Malta spent roaming around the ancient back streets of Valletta, before our afternoon of extreme relaxation at the spa. It’s winter here and it’s still 25 degrees.. pretty happy to be spending a week here before AW14 gets into full swing. Follow me on instagram for more daily updates from the island!

I think I need to get in touch with the North Devon tourist board, as I could spend all day exploring the vast coastline it has to offer, and no matter how long I spend down here, I never have enough time to see it all. So much beauty that I didn’t really think about growing up here, as I really didn’t know any different. I spent a lot of time on this beach; roaming across the miles and miles of sand dunes; swimming in the sea that’s always too cold – even in the height of summer! So I’m glad I can share it with you, during the golden hour; a little slice of home that inspires me and my work constantly.
After falling for Claudia Ligari’s mesh bomber jacket this summer I’m pleased to add a new piece to the collection; a classic tee that’s half silk, half sports mesh. Perfect with my Kirstie Maclaren Neave cuff that I don’t think I wear enough, going back to those minimal gold pieces that my magpie eyes are drawn to. Wearing a heavy wool coat that was pinched last minute from the boy, sometimes oversized menswear is too good not to.
Exploring the local beaches in Devon and generally taking in some fresh sea air on Croyde Beach yesterday. I love the texture of these slate rocks I’m perched on, so much beauty to take in with the surroundings down here. Flats definitely come in handy when climbing sand dunes and jumping over rock pools! I’m still living in this Acne polo sweater, which is just the perfect oversized outerwear right now.
It’s been a long time since I wore anything with a logo emblazoned across the front of it, but I instantly fell in love with the shape of this oversized sweatshirt by Acne, practising what I preach, you know? It’s also perfect for wind shielding, biking around East London to the studio, as I do everyday. As you saw on twitter this morning I actually fell off in the most dramatic way, the fantasy versus the reality – I am pretty clumsy so it’s useless trying to portray myself any other way!
This is also the first time I’m wearing these super chunky leather pants that I bought back in the summer.. ready for this moment. They remind me of heavy biker-wear, which I may need more of after this morning.. Hope you all have a good weekend!
As I’m planning my suitcase for my biannual runaway to Devon for new seasons inspiration trip, I’m asking myself, how it’s going to be possible to take all these oversized garments with me? I’m so into the new layering and knitwear and 10 sizes too big coats, but this doesn’t bode well for my trip. Maybe I just cocoon myself for the train.. we shall see. That first coat still has me dreaming about the more affordable Sandro version, I just need a cold snap to come in to push me over the edge into buying.

We’ve all been obsessing over the Stella McCartney pinstripe, adding key pieces from the collection into our fantasy shopping baskets and wishing we could just hit the ORDER button. Oh you haven’t? Well I seem to be doing that quite a lot lately! Especially this stripe knit that I am head over heels in love with. These Zara pants have me satisfied for now, they are the perfect balance of chic, comfortable and can be worn with loose jumpers and ugly sandals and still look good.
These photos were taken during the golden hour of a very long Sunday afternoon last week, spent working on the new site with Shini (I owe all the beautiful aesthetics of the site down to her). Also many hours spent watching cult nineties/noughties movies, whilst stuffing Haribo into our mouths. So happy with the website and thank you to those of you who have already put through an order. Don’t forget to enter the competition in the post below to own a piece of AW13 if you haven’t already, choosing a winner on Wednesday!
