Suddenly there are people ice skating on my instagram, The Pogues being played on the radio and fairy lights going up on my route home from work, there’s only one conclusion, Christmas is actually around the corner! Even my boyfriend bounced out of bed the other day exclaiming ‘only 50 days to go!’. I had no clue what he was talking about of course or that he was even keeping track.. Christmas does strange things to people.
Having said that the best thing about this time of year for me is the increased number of chunky knits, layered wools, textured leathers and slouchy sweaters; it’s the cosiest time of year. So I’ve teamed up with H&M to pick my favourite pieces from their website heading up to Christmas. I love this white silk jumpsuit which Joan Smalls makes look impossibly cool with silver brogues. Also the whole layered textured chunky knits WILL be happening, preferably in front of a roaring fire on a sofa somewhere far away from technology and reality for that matter.

Talking about dressing for colder weather, is there anything better than a simple black cami dress, where the focus is solely on the clean lines and straps across the collarbone? (Just add chunky knitwear as the nights draw in!)
The new Fashion Weeks collection from H&M, is exactly what it says on the tin; coming out at the end of August it’s perfect timing for strong statement dressing for the fashion month ahead, it’s modern but quirky in a unique way, heavily focused on monochromatic minimalism. As usual we can rely on H&M to make high fashion wearable for everyone.
More delving’s into pinstripe; sorry I’m not sorry, etc.. although waring the same coat twice is hardly a crime, but so much love, for so much pinstripe could be. I am not so secretly heavily crushing on the Stella plaid which I may well move onto next. You know when you have dreams about THAT coat that it’s time to do something about it. Not that a white cashmere heavily price tagged coat is making any sense right now, perhaps the knitwear could. Perhaps I love it more as it seems like the only print that has escaped being copied on the high street to deaths door and back. Watch this space I suppose.

Back in time. before the big chop; no my hair doesn’t grow at super speed. I’m in Devon for the weekend with family and found these I forgot all about. Wearing the black waxed leather jacket from my last collection, currently in production and hitting stores in a couple of weeks – woohoo! So excited for my own ecommerce site to launch around the same time meaning you’ll be able to buy directly from me! So many exciting things happening at the moment – thank you to all of you for joining me on this journey, and most of all for the support!

Back in London and in the midst of packing, managed to break free for iced coffee and snacks to take in some of the epic heatwave that London has been experiencing. Funny that it doesn’t look remotely as hot as my previous sun filled posts, but London is a muggy heat and it’s definitely not as appropriate to walk around in a bikini here, fortunately.
More than clothes lately I seem to be collecting jewellery like a magpie; my latest obsession is Kirstie Maclaren. Featured on this blog years ago with her graduate collection, and now fully fledged and with her own beautiful jewellery label! Obsessed with these perfect gold pieces, feeling a bit of a cleopatra vibe wearing them all at once, which is no bad thing.

Watching the sunset over the Balearic islands, at our evening at The Savannah. These photos nostalgically remind me of similar nights spent with family on holiday, listening to Motown albums over and over, hence the fitting name and now a sound that just feels like summer to me. It felt good dressing up a bit after spending most of the day lounging around in a bikini on the island of Ibiza. Still living in these perfect trousers and the H&M top, that I have to watch I’m not slouching and playing peekaboo with those sitting closest..
Happy that summer is here in London, stil frantically packing up the studio ready for the move tomorrow. Only frantically because I want to get out and enjoy the Sunday on such a beautiful weekend!

One of my favourite pictures from when I was down in Devon, taken on instagram after a day on the beach – which clearly you can tell by my skin! I’d been looking for the perfect pair of white trousers for forever and I found these in Zara (similar here and here), so happy when the high street gets it right.
Speaking of high street, what do we think of the news that Isabel Marant will be the next in line for H&M collaboration? It seems logical to go for such an easy-to-wear, laid back brand after the avant garde aesthetics of Margiela last year. That being said, I think what made the Margiela collection genius as it was actual remakes of key archive pieces, and I’m still wearing my leather trews consistently.
Back to work after the holidays and busy with production for AW13, SO excited to get my e-commerce site up and running so you guys will have a lot more choice and see more what my brand is all about. In the meantime Bengt are having a 30% off pre sale so make sure you snatch up anything you’ve had your eye on before it goes! Just use the code FLASHSALE30 at the checkout.

In the English countryside at the moment enjoying some R&R before lots of buyers meetings begin to take place next week. I still have so many pictures from the show to share with you that I will start to put up soon, I promise! Right now I’m enjoying taking little 7 month old Kobi out for long walks and knowing that a large chunk of the work is done. :)
Despite living the last week in black jeans and a tshirt due to walking the dog or cutting out hides of leather on my hands and knees, it feels good to dress up in nice things at the weekend. I’ve been wearing my new boots at every available opportunity, their first outing being around my neighbourhood to buy a tin of beans from the corner shop. I’m not sure if Riccardo Tisci designed these boots with that job in mind but live in them, I shall.
Most of my eBay trawling has to be under the name ‘Ann Demeulemeester’ (of course!), the sheer volume of pieces you can find internationally, and sold for a fraction of the price; even often cheaper than the equivalent you would buy new in Zara. My most recent find was this silk/linen mix blazer; I’ve been looking for a thicker, longer jacket for winter and this is perfect! I’ve also been dying to pair this shirt with some Ann D, as I wanted so many of the dip dye pieces from her last collection, but they’re always such a high price compared to the normal silk pieces. Maybe eBay will yield some of that soon too!
