For the first time in years I’m keeping my fashion week antics to a minimum, skipping most of the London shows and Paris also in favour of gathering my mind and finding some peace and solitude. I think when you travel to Paris anywhere between two and six times a year, it’s nice to skip a season and feel really smug that you managed to sit this round out.
I’m headed on a big Asia tour in three weeks and I could not be more excited! Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo and then Indonesia. More on my reasoning for travelling there later, big exciting things are happening with collaborations soon to be unveiled.
So who could pull me out of my smug state of fashion-week-avoiding than my dear friend Rejina Pyo; who had her very first fashion show at Friends House in North London. It was INCREDIBLE. I love and admire her design and use of fabrics, layering and texture. She always gets it right and isn’t afraid to use bold colours and fabrics such as rust corduroys, baby pink velvet, fuscia cottons and hairy silver polys.
The show itself was held in a quakers meeting hall, a grand square room with rows of seating looking down to the floor which Rejina had decorated with large triangle mirrors for reflecting all the best angles of the looks and giving a chic fun house vibe. My favourite look was a high collared white silk shirt with slits on the arms, tucked into a high waisted pair of wide leg trousers with a beautiful resin side button. The shoes and accessories were all incredible, and are actually available for pre order now on Rejina’s wesbite.
I was lucky enough to be dressed for the show, here I’m wearing a beautiful powder blue cashmere coat, a classic style of Rejina Pyo. As well as a low back dress with tie and gathered fabric across the front in grey knit. Only Rejina could get me in a dress, it just so happens to be the coolest dress in town.
