Some beauty products I can’t live without at the moment

I’ve been wanting to do this post for a while and it’s the perfect rainy day for me to stay inside and play with my camera. When it comes to make up and hair products I prefer the easy natural look, and slowly over the last few months I’ve been introduced to products that really make a difference. Any time I’ve been on a magazine shoot I can’t quite believe the transformation before my eyes, that’s not to say it’s as easy to get the same look at home when all you have is one arm holding a hairbrush and the other a dryer, as apposed to a team all pulling your hairs different directions at the same time. Anyway here are some of the products that actually do work at home for me.

For the hair: I’m loving this seaweed shampoo from Bumble and bumble (I have the conditioner too but it’s not as thick and creamy as their other ones), so instead I’ve been using this new Phil Smith conditioning hair mask every few washes. After I use the Bumble and bumble prep spray followed by Moroccan Oil. I am totally obsessed with the Moroccan Oil! I know I’m a bit late on this but glad I made the party eventually, so much better than any other hair oil product I’ve used and I love the glossy feeling afterwards.

For the face: I’ve had the Clinique eyes serum for a while but really started using it around fashion week; the cold ball feels so good under your eyes and really helps to wake you up. Bobby Browns corrector is amazing for under your eyes, I’m always paranoid about looking tired and this is another beauty secret I learned from a make up artist on set, then I always top up with YSL’s Touche Eclat (told you I was paranoid). For the mascara I love MaxFactor, they have the perfect brush size and always make my eyelashes look longer. The Calvin Klein eyeshadow base I’ve just been using on it’s own, it’s got a great creamy texture that doesn’t turn into lines on your eyelid after a days wear; it’s just a few shades darker than my skin tone so it’s quite subtle. The Laura Mercier eye powder duo is another new product I can’t live without; I’ve got it in Deep Blonde and you use the lighter powder for the inside of your brow and the darker one as you brush out. The high beam from Benefit is great for a healthy glow, I just put a little on my cheekbones and on the inside of the eye to brighten up my face.

I’d love to hear of any products that you guys can’t live without!

  1. I’m curious about the Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara, I have short-straight eyelashes, longing for long spidery lashes.

At the moment, I can’t live without Aveeno moisturiser lotion (better than Dove).

    1. I have fairly short eyelashes too, not very thick either, I think Maxfactor makes my lashes thicker and longer, and such a good price too!

I’ve been bouncing from moisturiser to moisturiser all winter. I hate central heating for my face gets so dry. I’ve got three creams on the go at the moment! All for different levels or dryness or time of day. I’ll be on the look out for Aveeno!

  2. Love this beauty post. I’m on the hunt for some new tried and true products so I’ll to give these a go!

  3. Thanks for sharing, will have to try High Beam, I feel it’s perfect for summer! x

  4. I love Moroccan oil! Makes hair look beautiful. To bad it’s that expensive

  5. I love B&B hair products but my favourite shampoo/conditioner combo has to be their Coco one. So good and smells like a tropical cocktail every morning… I can’t be doing with lightweight conditioners, I want full-on buttery action. I also can’t live without St Ives face scrub and Dr Sebagh Deep Exfoliating mask. Ultra extreme exfoliation every time. Oh and Touche Eclat but the men’s one.

    1. Oooh I have yet to try that one. Thanks for the heads up!

I had no idea that Touche Eclat had a males version… Didn’t you buy the normal one at the last beauty sale?

  6. I really like the NARS Satin Lip Pencils – so easy to apply, not drying at all, and such a great range of colours! I’ve always sworn by Dior’s liquid liner – and I’m the same with dark circles! Have you tried By Terry? The founder, Terry de Haivalland, invented the Touche Eclat before starting her brand, so their concealers are A+! I use the Touch-Expert :) xx

    1. Ahh amazing! Dark circles are like, my worst fear. I’ll definitely give it a try :)

  7. oh, i always love posts like this one! nivea lip balm gave me an allergic shock two years ago so i only use organic and homemade products nowadays. therefore, i kind of live through other people’s blog posts when it comes to conventional beauty products, haha~ would love to try the touche eclat.

for my face (and sometimes hands and feet, too), i use weleda’s pomegranate cream because of its fresh and luxurious smell. really, i could eat the whole tube… for my lips, weleda’s everon lip balm with its moisture and nice, natural glow is great. my make up, rouge and eyebrow pencil are from logona, they work perfectly and don’t have any mercury in them. i’m even more archaic when it comes to my hair: lately, i have achieved the most wonderful curls by only using olive soap and apple vinegar.

i would love to see more of your beauty routine by the way, a favourite would be about how you achieve to look so fresh yet natural!

  8. honey, what a beautiful setting! eye candy so to speak.
I could really recommend the MAC Mineralize Concealer, the Clarins Blush Prodige and the Master Smoky Shadow Pencil from Maybelline (soo easy to get some smokey eyes)!
