The new website is officially live! I’ve been threatening to do a huge giveaway for a while now, so here it is. I know it won’t disappoint! I’m so excited to have teamed up with hair giants, Bumble and bumble, to offer some pretty uhhmazing stuff. I always use their products for my shows and editorial shoots, so it made total sense to team up with them for my first giveaway for the new site, and with items I use on a daily basis.
There are two sets of prizes, first is the Charlie May ostrich leather tee with Bumble and bumble quenching shampoo and conditioner, thickening creme and surf spray (This is available worldwide!). And, the second is two tickets to see our catwalk show at London Fashion Week, 15th September! As well as Bumble and bumble Mending shampoo and conditioner, surf spray and texture creme (this is available to UK residents only who are in London for fashion week.) Unfortunately I cannot provide travel!
All you have to do is sign up to our newsletter and follow Girl a la Mode on BlogLovin’. Just leave a comment below to say which prizes you’re going for (you can vote for both!) Competition will close on Wednesday morning, along with the free worldwide shipping for the new site. I wish you all good luck!
I’ve been wanting to do this post for a while and it’s the perfect rainy day for me to stay inside and play with my camera. When it comes to make up and hair products I prefer the easy natural look, and slowly over the last few months I’ve been introduced to products that really make a difference. Any time I’ve been on a magazine shoot I can’t quite believe the transformation before my eyes, that’s not to say it’s as easy to get the same look at home when all you have is one arm holding a hairbrush and the other a dryer, as apposed to a team all pulling your hairs different directions at the same time. Anyway here are some of the products that actually do work at home for me.
For the hair: I’m loving this seaweed shampoo from Bumble and bumble (I have the conditioner too but it’s not as thick and creamy as their other ones), so instead I’ve been using this new Phil Smith conditioning hair mask every few washes. After I use the Bumble and bumble prep spray followed by Moroccan Oil. I am totally obsessed with the Moroccan Oil! I know I’m a bit late on this but glad I made the party eventually, so much better than any other hair oil product I’ve used and I love the glossy feeling afterwards.
For the face: I’ve had the Clinique eyes serum for a while but really started using it around fashion week; the cold ball feels so good under your eyes and really helps to wake you up. Bobby Browns corrector is amazing for under your eyes, I’m always paranoid about looking tired and this is another beauty secret I learned from a make up artist on set, then I always top up with YSL’s Touche Eclat (told you I was paranoid). For the mascara I love MaxFactor, they have the perfect brush size and always make my eyelashes look longer. The Calvin Klein eyeshadow base I’ve just been using on it’s own, it’s got a great creamy texture that doesn’t turn into lines on your eyelid after a days wear; it’s just a few shades darker than my skin tone so it’s quite subtle. The Laura Mercier eye powder duo is another new product I can’t live without; I’ve got it in Deep Blonde and you use the lighter powder for the inside of your brow and the darker one as you brush out. The high beam from Benefit is great for a healthy glow, I just put a little on my cheekbones and on the inside of the eye to brighten up my face.
I’d love to hear of any products that you guys can’t live without!
So, I’ve been trying out the Bumble and bumble products for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I’m super happy with the results. When it comes to beauty I’m a no fuss girl, I want my hair to be get up and go and my make up is never much more than a bit of mascara; which is why I wanted to see if changing your shampoo and conditioner can make any difference at all. I’ve been trying out the B.b mending range which has been amazing, I tried using the mending masque which I have to say is just as good as using the mending conditioner itself, just richer; also the mending complex after washing – I’ve also been teaming it with some cans of Label M protein and shine spray to give it that extra healthy shine. Super happy hair!
My new hair regime starts today thanks to Bumble and bumble! I have to say I’m quite rubbish when it comes to my hair, I often use any product found lying around my room from a ye olde goody bag that I have no clue how to use. I personally feel that Bumble and bumble wear the crown when it comes to hair products, from watching hair stylists use it backstage at fashion week you can see the transformation happening right before your eyes. Hopefully these products will turn me into a professional too.
