HANAMI

Wearing: Charlie May SS13 shirt dress, Zara trousers, Chloe sandals, jewellery courtesy of Backstage.

London is so beautiful right now, with blossom trees lining every street. I will never get tired of the hundreds of petals on my instagram every day, so thought it was about time I bring this spring feeling onto the web. Wearing the silk georgette shirt dress from my SS13 collection (available to buy here) and some new Zara jeans that will stay white, if I can help it.

PACKING LIGHT

Zara sandals, Alexander Wang Liya pumps and lydia clutch, Givenchy boots, Moxham cuff, Luv Aj necklace, Noemi Klein ring, Helmut Lang half cuff and Chloé perfume.

Where would we be without all our accessories? I actually managed to pack light for once realising that just because my suitcase is large-ish doesn’t mean I have to fill it to bursting, especially when I always leave Devon with an assortment of delicious homemade jams and chutneys (super mum alert!).

So here are the accessories I can’t quite live without at the moment. The perfect assortment of shoe types and various coloured metals, meaning I only needed to bring a tshirt and trousers. WIN! Have a good weekend and if you want to see more from my Devon roaming, you can find me on instagram under girlalamode.

NEW CUT

Wearing: Stylein knit, Topshop Unique skirt, Chloe sandals, Moxham cuff.

So you may have noticed my hair’s a little shorter, I’m gradually working my way up to Daria Werbowy crop for the summer, although I’m quite liking this awkward length too. I wanna be all hanging out by the pool in my furry Céline-stocks, constantly in a flash of Juergen Teller light.

I’m down in Devon for a few days appreciating the sun in the countryside, heading to beach over the weekend and generally saving those pennies until Antwerp next week! So happy Spring is finally here and legs can be out etc. Now all I need is a tan plz!

APRIL FOOLS

Wearing: Zara jumper, Helmut Lang skirt, Chloe sandals and Moxham Otto bracelet.

The only april fool this weekend was me going out practically in bare feet, it may be alright for bare legs but not quite sandals weather yet. I actually had a dream the other night that I was holidaying in the Caribbean, how desperate for sun can I be? Anyway, enough weather chat as that is all anyone talks about in London these days.

I’ve been living in this sweatshirt from Zara the last week, going through about 10 lint rollers a day due to Kobi shedding his winter coat all over the flat. It’s the perfect slouchy sporty vibe which has led me on the hunt for a pair of trousers with the same kind of aesthetic. I’m off to sadly put the sandals back in the cupboard. Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend!

DRESSING UP WITH VARG

Wearing: Stylein dress, Chloe sandals, Maria Nilsdotter bracelet.

Wearing: 2nd Day suede jacket and dip dye top, Dagmar dress, Won Hundred boots.

Wearing:  Won Hundred Bomber Jacket, Stylein top, Won Hundred Men’s shorts, Noemie Klein ring, Kurt Geiger shoes.

One very snowy white day last week I headed into Varg to play dress up in some very summery clothes. Isn’t that just the fashion way, always living out alternative seasonal fantasies!

I absolutely adore Scandinavian brands and Varg happens to house all my favourites. From Dagmar to Won Hundred, you know that everything you pull from the rack will drape and style perfectly. I love the separates that you can layer and layer to your hearts content, and even when you do stumble upon a single floor length dress (such as the navy Stylein one above), it’s so perfect that you know you don’t need anything else at all.

Thank you to Rachel from Varg for the invite and to Tove for letting me rearrange all your furniture, I will happily be back soon!

7 DAYS

This week I’m featured on the Company Weekly Edit app for their 7 Days of Style feature, also as a kind of second parter to the magazine feature this month! I attempted to write down what I was wearing for each, but it was just too insane so if you have any questions, just leave a comment down below. When you download the app, it will mention the key pieces I’m wearing too. Some of the outfits you have seen here before, I think this is a good rundown of all my favourite pieces I’ve been wearing recently.

CHAIN

Wearing: Charlie May SS13 silk shirt dress, Topshop jumper, Acne trousers, Chloe heels, Alexander Wang clutch turned handbag.

I’ve been wanting a petite shoulder bag for a long time now (I love the PS1 chain wallet but unfortunately it’s beyond my budget for now); so when I saw this Wang clutch I knew it would make the perfect transformation, being that it’s so beautiful already.

All you need for the DIY is a chain and a pair of pliers. I bought the chain from London Trimmings as they have a huge selection, and the pliers you could find at any hardware store.

It was so easy, as the bag already has zipper pulls at the side for the chain to attach onto. I love my new transformed clutch!

FUSED SILK

Wearing: American Apparel tee, Navy trousers from my AW12 collection, Chloe shoes, Bracher Emden x Bora Aksu clutch, MFP bracelet, Dominic Jones claw.

A few weeks ago I decided I really wanted a pair a classic tailored trousers with a subtle pattern or twist, to pair with a classic tee and heels – then I remembered I had the perfect fabric and design from my A/W 12! As you can see the pattern is quite subtle indeed, so I thought I’d share an Instagram that shows the material in more detail. The fabric was originally a loose fluid silk, which I fused, to create a squishy neoprene like texture. I love the fit – and they’re super comfy; looking forward to wearing a lot more from this collection!

If you want a pair too, the trousers and matching jacket are now available through Bengt!

SHOW DAY OUTFIT

Wearing: Margiela shirt dress, Chloe braided sandals.

I’d been saving this perfectly simple shirt dress for the day of my show, knowing that it had the right balance of comfort and paired down chicness. Although, being Margiela is did have some slight quirks; like the arm holes coming down super low, disabling me from lifting my arms too high! What an amazing day though, I still can’t quite believe it happened. Looking forward to seeing more photos from the show itself, wondering at this point why I didn’t set up a video!

TRANSITIONING

Wearing: DESA pony leather jacket, 2nd Day tank, Ann Demeuelemeester skirt, Chloe sandals, Miu Miu sunnies

Autumn is apparently here and I’m finding the best thing is to carry a leather jacket with me everywhere. My favourite at the moment is this minimal black leather jacket by DESA, with some not-so-minimal lace print on the front actually made out of laser cut pony leather!
