FOLD IT

Last night I headed down to The Truman Brewery on Brick Lane to see Middlesex University’s degree show. Unfortunately I missed the actual catwalk event but luckily was still in time for the exhibitions.
Kirstie Maclaren‘s work first struck me as I walked into the BA Jewellery room, inspired by Japanese fashion and the architecture of London’s South Bank Center, the soft elegant pieces are easily adjusted and reshaped with magnets hidden inside. I love that Kirstie decided to do something completely different with her final project, the pieces sort of remind me of A.F. Vandevorst’s beautiful leather vest structures too.
Check out more of Kirstie’s work here.
