Where would we be without all our accessories? I actually managed to pack light for once realising that just because my suitcase is large-ish doesn’t mean I have to fill it to bursting, especially when I always leave Devon with an assortment of delicious homemade jams and chutneys (super mum alert!).
So here are the accessories I can’t quite live without at the moment. The perfect assortment of shoe types and various coloured metals, meaning I only needed to bring a tshirt and trousers. WIN! Have a good weekend and if you want to see more from my Devon roaming, you can find me on instagram under girlalamode.
Still championing winter white on whites, but definitely not able to brave the weather without tights yet! There is also a coat and hat out of shot, but I’m sure you knew that already. In love with my new Topshop Unique wrap skirt I’m wearing here, there’s lots of belt detailing hiding under the jumper that I can show you if it ever heats up a bit. The last collection was the first Topshop show that I actually loved from start to finish. I think they definitely suit a minimal aesthetic the most, although I’m sure they are just moving with the trends, I hope they stay on this for a few more seasons to come.
Yesterday I traveled to fairly unknown territory to meet French babe Camille for brunch in Ladbroke Grove. It’s so easy to visit the same places again and again in London, but I try my best to explore the new. I’d recommend brunch at Lowry & Baker if you’re in the area, great coffee too.

Ermahgerd, it’s only 4 days to the show. Expect to see sneak peaks of the collection this week on my twitter, instagram, vine and of course on here! Do you ever feel like your blog is neglected in favour of social media? Probably, but only because there’s more time to upload a picture whilst on your way to a pre fashion week meeting, than dedicate an entire photo session to an outfit or a tasty meal I just ate. Now Vine is here, the circle of life on the internet is complete (see recent finger dancing vid whilst humming We Are Family..), or just see this outfit in motion and the sound of these hooves on the pavement. Rainy Sundays have never felt so good.

Despite living the last week in black jeans and a tshirt due to walking the dog or cutting out hides of leather on my hands and knees, it feels good to dress up in nice things at the weekend. I’ve been wearing my new boots at every available opportunity, their first outing being around my neighbourhood to buy a tin of beans from the corner shop. I’m not sure if Riccardo Tisci designed these boots with that job in mind but live in them, I shall.
So this is what I look like with a full face of make up; plastered and polished. I rarely wear anything more than on the eyes and would rather have thick brows than lipstick on; I don’t wear foundation or blusher. Prettyness isn’t that important to me.. So why am I wearing a full face of it here!? I’d just been on a shoot with More Magazine and had to be fully made up to make me look alive under the heavy studio lights. Aha! When I went to meet Michael for lunch afterwards around London Collections Men, he remarked that he could actually see my face from across the street! Haha back to normal today and much happier to be able to touch my face without fear. I finally managed to hit the sales on Tuesday too, but came out empty handed! They had some great Celine in Dover St Market but none of the shoes I’ve been hunting for. My bank balace is heaving a sigh of relief I think.

I’m finally back from my mini impromptu blog break! It’s good to take an internet holiday sometimes, even when it’s not out of choice.. I’m staying with my family in North Devon over the holidays where the internet seems to rarely work. These are all images from my instagram over the last several days; ice skating, shoe shopping and walking Kobi in the countryside. Thank god for 3G!
I hope you’re all having an amazing Christmas! I finally managed to get some pictures done in between rain showers today so I’ll have a real post up tomorrow!
This was the outfit I wore to the Bengt pop up shop launch last Thursday, there were photos taken on the evening but Lexxi and I had had too many Martini Royales to be taking anything too seriously and as a result I have a memory card full of laugh-out-loud moments. I currently have my SS13 collection back in my arms to go to the factory and into production, (so exciting!) it’s nice to give it some wear too.
I’m more excited that Autumn is here because it means I can start wearing my knee high boots again! I only own two pairs currently, which are these and my triple lace boots. There are so many amazing ones online at the moment, I thought I’d share with you my favourites!
From left to right: Nicholas Andreas Taralis, Alexander Wang Kolfinna, Haider Ackermann, and Givenchy leather knee highs.
How much do I want a Givenchy shark lapel blazer? I fell in love with the black python version on the runway, waiting until I have a spare £3k lying around for that one! I don’t remember seeing this tweed version from the show, but the mesh panels are pretty awesome! To put this all into context, we were at the Digital Dress Up event thrown by Farfetch just before fashion week kicked off. We raided the rails, to pick our favourite pieces for AW12, so happy I finally got to try on those Haider trousers I’ve been eyeing for so long! Beneath the jacket I’m wearing the most beautiful sheer panel Theyskins Theory knit that is now officially on my to-buy list. How perfect is the leather biker/Katranzou combo that Lexxi‘s wearing too?

A huge congratulations to Lucie Kerley for winning the Dr Martens comp! And thank you everyone for all your amazing entries, you went above and beyond the call of duty. Glad to see everybody loves docs as much as I do. I can’t wait to look around the factory in a few weeks!
Bleaching of the eyebrows has been a big thing since 2009, sparked by Givenchy bringing out their renowned A/W 09 campaign -one of my favourites; featuring striking lips, dark eyes and bleached eyebrows. Now, two of my favourite blogging ladies, Josefin and Alexxsia, have decided to lose their brows. I know it’s not for everyone, but I’m so happy seeing it on real women and not just super models. It definitely brings out the features, leaving the face looking bold, beautiful and striking. I haven’t seen the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo yet, but Rooney Mara looks pretty smoking hot with bleached brows too; maybe this will spark a big comeback for 2012.
I’ll leave you with this insanely hilarious must read from the Daily Mail dating back to 2009, where they photoshop Daniel Radcliffe’s face, leaving him looking like an evil super villain keen to seek revenge on who ever stole his eyebrows.
