UWE GRADUATE SHOW PART 1

Edward Lord
The most dramatic collection of the whole show, it was fun watching the billowing silk whipping all the granny faces in the front row. Edward interned at Alexander McQueen and I think the influence is quite clear in this collection. My favourite has to be the fur coat, so classic and dramatic. Congratulations to Edward for getting through to the Gala show at Graduate Fashion Week too.
Alex Aldridge
Jennifer Wheeler
I kind of loved how simple this collection was, beautiful prints with very down to earth styling. Totally reminds me of how my friend Kim would dress every day if she could.
Sioban Morse
Sioban contacted me before the show to ask if it it was ok to use me as her customer for this collection. I was so excited to see what she had created and it didn’t disappoint; strong silhouettes and beautiful colour clashing, I love the multiple waistline (2nd right) and the jewellery adds a pop-art fun feel. Her website is definitely worth checking out with some beautiful sketchbook imagery and capsule collections.
Lucy Lambert
A really lush and alive looking collection with great textures and cutting.
Tallulah Christodoulou
I really liked Tallulah’s collection, every outfit was shredded in a different material from jersey to felt. So obsessed with the first coat, it had huge patch pockets on the side too which unfortunately you can’t really see in the photos.
Holly Pacius
A beautiful intriguing menswear collection with so any different levels to look at, it reminded me of designers Child of the Jago; very moody, tailored and laid back.
Kimberley Brown
Graphic and chic, enough said.
Lucy Brookes
Amazing subtle nudie porno prints that make you look twice. I loved the mesh overlay on the tee’s and the crinkle jeans were a nice touch.
Jenna Lauren Dawson
A beautiful romantic collection with incredible detailed prints and embroidery.
Chloe Watson
Great prints, textures and colours; a graduate show wouldn’t be complete without a pair of fluffy legs.
Ella Gregory
A beautifully fluid collection with popping colours and dreamy sheer trousers.

So last week I headed down to Bristol to see the UWE Graduate Show. These are my favourites from the first half, more to come!

  1. WOW I love every single piece, perfectly tailered and well styled! Amazing thanks for sharing

  2. I was trying to remember the name of each of my favourite designers as I went through so I could tell you my faves… but there were too many and now I’ve forgotten them. Ahhh. Looks so good though!

    Love the photography! xx

  3. so much talent flying around that place. X

  4. Wow, Charlie May, you did a great reporting job: visually and conceptually! My favourite shot is the top – Edward Lord, and I agree, I love his coat – see the McQueen influences – but I really like aspects of everyone.

Good for Sioban for contacting you – I’ll check out her site soon as I send this – and I, too, like her cartoon fun whimsy thing: reminds me of the first LFW show I saw, KTZ.

Thanks for stopping by and to answer your comment, yes, back from Hay – then we were away for the weekend, but back again. Busy but always have time for you, Charlie May! xx
