It’s easy to live in jeans; hard wearing, and easily dressed up or down; they’re easy to pull off without worrying that you look too try-hard or better yet too casual. Yves wish he’d invented the jean and I have to agree. Denim done well is something so rare that when it is, it needs to be celebrated. Levi’s saw that their classic 501 jeans – so sought after in every city vintage haven, were being bought up, customised and tailored so they decided to save their customers the hassle and reinvent the wheel as it were. I have to say I never have time to rip my jeans or even tailor them, so it’s refreshing to just try on a pair of jeans and find them fitting so perfectly that you even want to wear them out the store, so reluctant to take them off already.
Most of my days are spent in the studio, pattern cutting and toiling in good time for fashion week, as you know. And jeans are easy to throw on in the morning, wear all day, whether you’re on the floor, on running around the city to various meetings, they stay with you. Then the evening comes and you don’t need to worry. These 501CTs are cool enough, throw on a silk shirt, in place of that perfect white tee, tie up your hair and re-apply that mascara, and you’re good to go. I have to say I’m obsessed with the fit; so flattering, making you look skinny and long legged, even in plimsolls. It’s easy to live in Levi’s.
In collaboration with Levi’s for #LiveinLevis, celebrating their new 501CT jeans and icons products.
