SHOOTING FOR COMPANY

I had so much fun shooting with Company for their new issue, so exciting to be on the cover with so many friends and no, I didn’t realise they’d be publishing our handwriting; you can tell I’m on a sugar high from the big bowl of profiteroles they had sat by the table! I forgot my camera on the day, so I thought instead of posting a behind the scenes I could show you guys some photos that didn’t make the cut, but that I still love.

Thanks to my shooting buddies Nadia, Shini and Laetitia, had a major giggle looking at the photos. Big thanks to the Company team, it’s amazing that you’re the first mag to put bloggers on the cover!

SHOWING YOU MY WARDROBE

Sorry for kind of dropping off the face of the earth this week, I’ve been busy blogging for Puma, which I’m very excited about; posts will be emerging soon enough! In the meantime here are some outfits I shot with Kit Lee this week for Jackie Dixon’s Show Me Your Wardrobe. Some of my favourite outfits at the moment and always black and white, it’s only when I laid my five outfits on the bed that I thought oh jeez! I’ve got a monochrome addiction.

Thank you so much Kit and Jackie for featuring me!

BECAUSE LONDON

The Quiet Duel

Incredibly excited to be featured in Because online’s latest fashion film, entitled The Quiet Duel (credits below). To be paired with Margiela is too amazing to put into words. You all know how much I love monochrome, and any of these looks would be very happy in my own wardrobe!

In the meantime I’m working on SS13, went out and bought all the final fabrics yesterday ready to be dyed next week. I think I’ve created my dream jacket, I can’t wait for you guys to see in September! Sorry you have to wait that long!

MARIE CLAIRE SOUTH AFRICA FEATURE

I’m so excited to have been sent the final page of my feature in Marie Claire South Africa, out now, July Issue! It’s pretty amazing to be featured in a magazine outside of the UK, especially by such an iconic mag.

I hope you guys enjoy reading my interview, and welcome to any new readers!

PEAK INSIDE MY WARDROBE

A few weeks ago I invited the Muse TV into my home to show them some of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe. Like my favourite Ann Demeulemeester dress that I would save from the burning building, and of course some Charlie May pieces!

I hope you enjoy and have a good weekend!

Thanks Simon, Darryl and team of Muse TV!

FULL PAGE SPREAD

Thank you to the guys at No Cigar who put me in this crazy four full page spread interview feature! Seriously the coolest thing to happen to date. It’s their first time in print and is available to buy worldwide!

You can read the interview and flick through the mag here.

STYLE OF THE TIMES

How excited was I yesterday to see my SS12 studded headband in the Sunday Times Style!? What an amazing feeling.

Thank you so much to Flossie for the beautiful summery feature!

DIY SPORTS LUX WITH COMPANY MAGAZINE

Last month Company magazine asked me to take part in their DIY blogger challenge, as I was heavily inspired by Alexander Wang SS12 collection, I thought it would be fun to try and create a sports lux garment from the high street. I think this is the first DIY tutorial I’d ever done on the blog and it was pretty hard work punching all the holes! The shirt turned out great though and I’m looking forward to styling it with my wardrobe.

You will need:

  • A mini punch set (can also just use scissors but this is better for precision)
  •  A wax chalk (melts under heat, leaving no trace)
  •  A hammer to punch the holes with the set
  •  A ruler to measure out your markings
  •  A cutting mat so you don’t punch holes in all your furniture!

So, using a shirt from American Apparel, I marked out roughly where I was going to punch my holes with my wax chalk and then got punching using one of the larger hole settings, using the cutting mat to ensure the holes don’t go through to the back. When you’re done iron your garment to melt any wax chalk away, leaving your new sports lux piece!

The feature is in the June issue out now, I’d recommend buying it as there’s a pretty sweet DIY tutorial from Kit making a Simone Rocha inspired clutch that’s way cooler than mine! Let me know how you get on if any of you try something similar.

OH COMELY FEATURE

Excited to be featured on the beautiful Oh Comely magazines website.

I discovered the print version over Christmas in a WHSmith, in my little hometown in Devon! It really is a little slice of beauty.
